Seachem StressGuard 250ml Reduces stress
This is a top quality product that protects the mucus layer on the body of fish. It reduces stress during their transport or handling and also reduces the harmful effects of ammonia. "StresGuard" binds to proteins present in wounds, speeding up the healing process. It also reduces the risk of primary and secondary infections. It can be used with most medications, with the exception of copper-containing preparations. "StressGuard" does not contain amines and does not prevent the regeneration of "Purigen" and "HyperSorb" preparations. It does not coat the resins used in the filters, nor does it clog the filters themselves.
"StressGuard" is unique and very effective in its action because it contains colloid compounds that actively bind to proteins. These have the ability to penetrate into wounds and skin lesions where protein structures have been exposed and bind to them, enabling direct delivery of the disinfectants contained in the product and accelerating the healing process. The colloid compounds, by combining with the exposed protein structures, act as a liquid bandage.
Some commercially available products are designed to be added to the bags in which purchased fish are transported. These substances are generally acidic, sometimes very low in pH (strongly acidic). Adding such a substance to a small amount of water often does more harm than good. "StressGuard" has a pH of 7.0. Even when added in large quantities, it does not affect the pH value of the aquarium water. No other commercially available product is as effective.
Directions for use:
½ to 1 capful (2.5 - 5ml) for every 40l of water
use daily until symptoms of stress disappear or treatment is complete
the dose can be safely doubled
