A substrate for aquarium plants to prevent algae growth.
Maflora Light medium creates algae and pollution-free, slightly acidic aquatic environment, ideal for the life and reproduction of aquarium plants, as well as fish, shrimps and other aquatic organisms. Made from 100% natural, black volcanic earth. Nutrients contained in the substrate are available to plant roots, but not available to algae in the water column. The special production process gives the Maflora Light substrate unique features that improve the quality and clarity of water, and stabilize its parameters for a long time.
The Light version applies to:
general aquariums with a mixture of fish and plants
iwagumi aquariums
Amazonia biotope fish aquariums
plant and Dutch aquariums
Features:
Prevents algae growth
Reduces the number of water changes
Fertilizes plants
Supports rooting
Crystallizes water
Stabilizes the pH
Increases the filtration surface
Accelerates biological filtration
Usage:
Do not rinse before use.
Pour the substrate into the aquarium, the optimal layer is 5-8cm.
Gently pour water.
Plants can be planted immediately after flooding.
Add fish and shrimp after stabilizing the aquarium.
There is no need to change the water in the first weeks after insertion.
Comments
For freshwater aquarium only.
It creates a slightly acidic environment, lowers pH and KH, do not use cartridges or conditioners to prevent this effect.
Not suitable for fish living in biotopes with high KH and pH.
After use, depending on the water parameters, turbidity may appear, which will disappear after a few hours of filtration, a scum on the water, or a brown coating on the glass, which must be removed mechanically.
Maintenance:
The substrate can be slowly defrosted with a wide tip cleaner. As a result of long-term work in the substrate and repeated water changes, partial loss of properties and shape may occur. In this situation, there is no need to completely replace the substrate. They can be gradually refreshed during water changes, removing the top layer of 2-3cm with mud cleaner and pouring in a new substrate.
Water parameters:
The substrate after flooding with water will stabilize its parameters at a uniform level, depending on the parameters of the water used. To maintain a longer substrate life and maintain constant parameters in the aquarium, it is recommended to avoid very large water changes.
