The filter has all the conveniences of the 3 series, such as infinitely variable flow rate, very quiet operation, large capacity filter cartridges and filter, automatic water intake and integrated prefilter.


A new feature is the Xtender function, which counteracts the slowing down of the flow rate due to clogging of the fine-pore filter material - non-woven fabric. This function is very useful when we are temporarily unable to clean the filter and we need to improve water circulation in the tank (e.g. so that the oxygenation does not decrease or the water is treated in a chemical-biological manner).

All EHEIM PROFESSIONEL 4+ models have an integrated sponge prefilter that catches the largest dirt particles and protects the biological cartridges from clogging.

    EHEIM BioMECH - biological-mechanical aquarium cartridge. The porous surface and special impurity trapping pockets ensure optimal mechanical and biological filtration. The filter surface area is 600m²/l.
    EHEIM MECH pro x2 - mechanical cartridge for the aquarium. Directly downstream of the filter inlet, the water is subject to turbulence and even distribution, thanks to the cylindrical form of the EHEIM MECHpro. This allows coarser and heavier dirt particles to fall to the bottom of the bucket filter. The cartridge additionally provides a habitat for nitrifying bacteria, thus increasing the biological filtration surface area.
